Aims
To assess and improve compliance with BOA tourniquet-safety documentation standards in orthopaedic cases at GSTT during the audit cycle
Objectives
Case identification: Audit all orthopaedic surgeries using a tourniquet over a 3-month period.
Documentation audit: Record whether pressure, inflation time, safety-check and contraindications are documented for each case.
Gap analysis: Identify most frequently missing elements by month 2.
Checklist update: Revise the electronic tourniquet checklist in EPIC by month 3.
Re-audit: Repeat documentation audit in month 6 aiming for ≥90% compliance
