How to Use WhichAudit

Finding audits by browsing
The Browse page lists every approved audit and QIP in the repository. You can filter and sort the results using the controls at the top of the page.
Filter by type
Switch between Clinical Audits and Quality Improvement Projects using the type selector.
Filter by specialty
Narrow results to your specialty — from Cardiology to Emergency Medicine to Paediatrics.
Filter by trust
See what other NHS trusts have published — useful for benchmarking and inter-trust learning.
Sort results
Sort by newest, most viewed, or top rated to find the most relevant and trusted audits quickly.
Using the search function
The Search page lets you query across project names, backgrounds, aims, objectives, and keywords simultaneously.
- Use specific clinical terms: "VTE prophylaxis", "sepsis bundle", "hand hygiene"
- Try guideline names: "NICE NG51", "SIGN", "BTS guidelines"
- Search by condition: "heart failure", "COPD", "diabetes"
- Combine specialty + topic for best results
Search results are ranked by relevance. Each result shows the project type, trust, specialty, and year at a glance so you can quickly assess whether it matches your context.
How to share your audit
Submitting takes around 5 minutes. Every submission is manually reviewed by the WhichAudit team before it goes live — typically within 48 hours.
Choose a project type
Select either Clinical Audit or Quality Improvement Project. Not sure which? An audit measures current practice against a standard; a QIP implements and evaluates a change.
Fill in the core details
Provide the project name, NHS trust, clinical specialty, year, and any guidelines referenced (e.g. NICE, SIGN, BTS). These fields drive the filters and search.
Describe your audit
Add the background, aims, and objectives in plain language. You don't need to include patient data, outcomes, or results — just the methodology and intent.
Confirm data compliance
Tick the data protection box to confirm your submission contains no patient-identifiable information. This is mandatory.
Submit for review
Complete the CAPTCHA and submit. You'll receive a confirmation. Once approved by the admin team, your audit will appear publicly in the repository.
What you'll find on each project page
Each project page displays the full methodology submitted by the author, along with contextual metadata.
Metadata
Project type, NHS trust, specialty, year, and any referenced guidelines — all visible at the top of the page.
Background & Aims
The clinical rationale, what the audit set out to achieve, and the specific objectives.
Keywords
Tagged terms to help you find related projects and assess relevance.
