Why WhichAudit exists, and who's behind it
Built by a working NHS surgeon
Not a startup. Not a company. A registrar with a spreadsheet problem.
WhichAudit was built by Miles Benjamin, a Trauma & Orthopaedics registrar training in London. Like every doctor in training, he spent years watching the same pattern repeat: a new rotation starts, someone needs an audit for their portfolio, and the search begins from zero. Which topics have been done? What did the last person find? Where's the proforma? Nobody knows — the previous work lives in a departed trainee's inbox, a departmental shared drive nobody can navigate, or a USB stick in a drawer.
The idea
Stop reinventing the wheel
Every year, thousands of NHS audits are completed, presented once at a departmental meeting, and forgotten. WhichAudit exists so that work compounds instead of evaporating — a national, searchable, free repository where any clinician can find what's been done, build on it, and close more loops.
Principles
How the platform is run
- Free for all NHS clinicians — browsing, searching and submitting will never be paywalled.
- No patient-identifiable data, ever. Only anonymised, aggregate project summaries are published.
- Every submission is reviewed before it goes live.
- Contributors get recognition — certificates, profiles, and citable entries for portfolios and ARCPs.
- Built and run independently, with no pharma or commercial sponsorship influencing content.
